Total time: 39 mins
  • 2½ cups (348 grams) all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon (5 grams) baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon (4 grams) salt
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cloves
  • ⅛ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 16 tablespoons (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup (260 grams) light brown sugar
  • ¾ cup (161 grams) sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 11.40 ounces (323.2 grams) Autumn colored M & M's
  1. For the cookies:
  2. Preheat the oven to 325º. Line 3 large baking sheets with parchment paper and set aside.
  3. Whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg in a small bowl. Set aside.
  4. Cream the butter, brown sugar and sugar together until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes, scraping the bowl down as needed. Add the eggs and vanilla. Mix well. Add the flour mixture. Stir in the M & M's.
  5. Refrigerate the dough for 30 minutes.
  6. Using a 2 teaspoon cookie dough scoop, drop the cookies onto parchment lined baking sheets. Bake in a 325º oven for 14 minutes, until light golden brown, rotating the pans top to bottom and front to back halfway through. Cool on the pans.
  7. Betsy’s Tidbits:
  8. M & M Autumn Spice Cookies freeze beautifully. I like to rewarm them in the microwave or oven to get that just baked freshness.
